After the vibrant success of 2015 edition of PMDome®, we announce that the second edition will be occurring this year.


This workshop is the biggest and most rewarded event with practical activities about project managing worldwide. It works, essentially, the concepts of PMBOK® guide of the PMI (Project Management Institute) by dividing the participants in teams that, in a healthy competition, will execute tasks based on project managing, following the instructions given by a fictitious customer, to accomplish the final objective that is the construction of a geodetic dome, planed, executed and controlled in real time.

Specialist in project management, risks taking and portfolio. Ricardo Vargas is the author of fourteen books in Portuguese, English and Spanish.

Ricardo Viana Vargas is specialist in project management, portfolio and risk taking with diverse certification. In the last 20 years was responsible for more than 80 large projects in diverse countries, in the fields of oil, energy, infrastructure, telecommunication, informatic and financial, with a portfolio of investment above 20 million dollars.

Now a days, is director of the project and infrastructure group of the united nations office for project services (UNOPS) cope in Copenhagen, Denmark. His work has a focus the betterment of infrastructures and human project management, of constructing peace and infrastructures all over the world, including, between other, Haiti, o Afghanistan, a Syria, a Myanmar (Burma), o Iraqi e o Sudan do Sul.

Since 1995 to 2006, Ricardo, with two partners, develop one of the most solid business in technology, project management and subcontracting of the Brazilian market, that counted, in 2006, with 4.000 collaborators and generated an annual revenue of 50 million dollars. In 2006, Ricardo Vargas, sold is share to dedicate fully to the internationalization of his work in project management.

Was the first Latin-American volunteer to be elected to serve as chairman of the board of directors of the Project Management Institute ,

, that is the largest organization in project managing, with approximately 2.7 million members and certified professionals in 175 countries.

Ricardo Vargas wrote fourteen books about project management, published in Portuguese, English and Spanish, with more than 300 thousand copies sold worldwide. Received in 2005, the PMI Distinguished Award and in 2011 the PMI IS CoP Professional Development Award for his contribution to the development of project management. He also received the PMI Professional Development Product of the Year from the workshop PMDome®, considering the best solution of the world for teaching project managing. In 2013 and 2014 has considered by Microsoft as Most Valuable Professional (MVP) for is work in Microsoft Project.

He is a chemical engineer in training, a Master of Production Engineering from UFMG and a PhD in Civil Engineering from Fluminense Federal University (UFF). He also holds a Master Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University.


Ricardo recently become a Professional Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors  (MRICS) and holds the most prestigious certifications in project management, portfolio and risk. Three certifications by the Project Management Institute(PMI), five from the UK Government and Trade Office (OGC/Axelos/APMG), one from the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) and one from Association for Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE).

In addition to its certifications, Ricardo participated in a program of negotiations to executives of Harvard Law School, dof the Advanced Project Management Program of Stanford University and has executive strategy and innovation training by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
